Luckily, Agents of SHIELD has revealed the remedy to a seemingly endless three-month hiatus - a sound snippet from the midseason premiere (see video below).

"I just can't believe he's not coming back," Skye (Chloe Bennet) said in a new tribute to Trip (BJ Britt). "He should not have been down there."

"The obelisk triggered a massive earthquake," Coulson (Clark Gregg) replied. "Imagine how much worse it could have been if he hadn't destroyed it. Tripp died a hero."

While viewers will need to adjust to Trip's absence, the cast is also reluctant to say goodbye to Britt.

"It's a very heavy day here at Marvel's Agents of SHIELD because we've said farewell to one of our own. Our newest and most valuable player, I'm talking to you, BJ Britt." Gregg said before he initiated a version of the hashtag that exploded after Coulson's death in The Avengers.

"You heard it here first. I'm starting a movement. Get behind me people," Gregg said as he held up a #TripLives signs.
