After plenty of speculation, it's finally been announced if The Fosters is going to be picked up for a new season or not.

Is Brandon Going To Turn Down A Great Opportunity On 'The Fosters?'

Fans can celebrate because the ABC Family drama will indeed be back for a third year. The news was announced in The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday where it was ranked as "the No. 1 scripted cable series in its time period in the target demos, including viewers 12-34."

This leaves a lot to the imagination on what might happen in the third season since the second season hasn't even finished yet. In an interview with Celeb Secrets4U, David Lambert (Brandon) said that his character may or may not have an evolving romance with Callie in upcoming episodes since they'll have other things to worry about.

"Brandon and Callie- they'll check in with each other," the actor said. "I like saying that they're not done, they're just kind of changing, evolving, changing form I guess. And who knows? Maybe they'll go back to a romantic type deal, but as of right now they're kind of each doing their own thing."

Callie will be focusing on some legal inquiries while Brandon will focus on his music career.

"He's got this band that he's kind of playing around with, and so he's kind of setting that up," Lambert said. "But then he gets this opportunity with this school more along the lines of a classical music thing."

The Fosters returns on Monday, January 19 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
