He secretly helped keep Felicia (Kristina Wagner) from winning the mayoral race with a rigged election, but that may not be the only surprising thing Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) finds himself involved with on General Hospital.

The Mayoral Election Unveils New Scandal In Port Charles

The Cassadine prince has been secretly harboring his returned-from-the-dead evil grandmother Helena (Constance Towers) at the Spoon Island manor, and could soon find himself actually being a part of her huge plans for wreaking havoc on Port Charles-which also involve help from conditioned Jason/Jake (Billy Miller), 'Fluke', Larry Ashton, and Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).

Though it is still unclear what the group is really planning on doing (actions have included attempts to take over different mob territories and getting control of various companies), Nikolas could be tempted to cross over to the evil side of the Cassadine family when he realizes that Helena has some of her focus on potentially taking over the Quartermaine business-ELQ.

The Truth About Fluke and Luke Is Revealed?

"We need to talk about ELQ," he says to Helena in a preview clip for the Wednesday, Jan. 14 episode.

Meanwhile, Nicholas' scheme to rig the mayoral election and allow Janice Lomax to still reign over the city has brought some unexpected new turmoil in the city. As soon as the mayor was sworn back into office again, she fired Anna (Finola Hughes) as police commissioner-and gave the job to special agent Kyle Sloane (Robb Derringer), who had been warning Anna he would see her lose her job over her unethical practices concerning Faison.

Now, as Anna prepares to face life as a civilian again, she will have another run-in with Sloane, as he taunts her about losing her job.

"What are you doing in my office?" he asks Anna in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
