Action Film 'Blackhat' Stars Chris Hemsworth, Plus Other Details

Blackhat may star Australian stud Chris Hemsworth and has the intriguing storyline about a talented computer hacker, but critics have mixed views on if it's worth watching.

Entertainment Weekly reviewed the flick Thursday, giving it a C- because "Chris Hemsworth is all wrong as the lead," among other reasons.

Wired learned hackers love the film though. On Friday, the site recapped some reactions moviegoers had a screening, with most being positive.

A security consultant by the name of Mark Abene revealed, "Unlike others, this is a film about a real person, not a stereotype-a real guy with real problems thrust into a real situation. The technology-and the disasters-in the film were real, or at least plausible," adding, "I wouldn't call it a hacker movie. It was a story about cyber terrorism-and hacking played into the story-but that was part of a bigger picture."

The Wedding Ringer is also receiving mixed reviews from critics, but most are negative.

The Hollywood Reporter reviewed the comedy Thursday and revealed it's "lazy, numbingly routine, very occasionally amusing."

The Washington Post revealed Thursday that the creators of The Wedding Ringer failed to make a movie "with a distinct point of view that earns its laughs naturally."

Still Alice is a great drama that stars Julianne Moore. The Hollywood Reporter claimed Moore had a "career-high performance," which must be true since she won at the Golden Globes for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama.

Spare Parts is a drama about four Hispanic high school students that form a robotics club with no experience, $800, used car parts and a dream. They go up against the country's reigning robotics champion, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which is based on a true story.

Variety reviewed it Friday revealing the film "manages to be so emotionally affecting and dramatically satisfying".

Still Life has received great reviews as well. Its storyline of John May (Eddie Marsan) being a London council employee who does post-mortem care for all the lonely people could have gone horribly wrong, but as the New York Post claimed Thursday, Marsan played "the role delicately."

Son of a Gun is an action crime-drama that has received mixed reviews. For instance, The Hollywood Reporter claims the film "gives up any claims on gritty realism around the midway point." The site also revealed that due to its good-looking cast and the heist sequence being "well-handled," it'll probably do well overall.

Inherent Vice has garnered fairly positive reviews, including IGN calling it, "Provocative, hilarious, and its own breed of weird."

Plus, this film has been nominated for plenty of awards, including Joaquin Phoenix getting a nomination at the Golden Globes for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, but he didn't walk away with the win.

Ultimately it is up to you to decide if you'll go see any of these films or not.
