Finally, we have some new information about the winter premiere of the ABC hit show Scandal.

Kerry Washington Surprises Shonda Rhimes With Birthday Gift

After more than a month of little to no communication about the show, show creator Shonda Rhimes is opening up about a few details.

On Wednesday, Rhimes tweeted a message to fans letting them know that she and the directors have finalized the premiere episode and Scandal and she also added that she is the person responsible for writing the new episode.

It's no secret that Rhimes is a pretty busy person. Not only is she the creator of Scandal, she also has two other ABC shows that she's responsible for, so if she took the time out to write this new episode, we know it's going to be good.

Hold on to your seats gladiators, there's more information. The network released a synopsis for the new episode 'Run' and our questions will finally be answered.

"The winter premiere picks up right where the finale left off, this time from Olivia's point of view. Exactly what happened when Jake went to the bedroom? Who took Olivia and where did she go? The fight of Olivia's life will begin on the January return of Scandal."

Sadly, that's the only piece of information we have, but the show is only one week and a few days away from returing to TV.

Scandal returns to Thursday nights on Jan 29th at 9 p.m. on ABC. Get ready to gladiate, gladiators.
