While the final season of AMC's Mad Men has been challenging for audiences, cast, and crew, it has also been difficult for the studio that produces it.

The show has been one of Jon Feltheimer's greatest achievements as CEO of Lionsgate Entertainment. Now that it's coming to a close, even Feltheimer is feeling the loss.

"I'm not happy it's ending," declared the CEO to The Hollywood Reporter on Jan. 23, "But I think Matthew [Weiner] did a wonderful job from beginning to end. I think it's going to always remain as one of the best series ever done."

Series creator Matthew Weiner has always felt that the ad agency drama has always been overlooked when it comes to the show's stellar cast, and Feltheimer definitely agrees. According to the CEO, the show's performers have been taken for granted over the last seven years.

"I will say I do feel people have ignored how good the acting is with Jon Hamm never winning an Emmy and the fact that Mad Men didn't get any Golden Globe nominations this year," noted Feltheimer. "I feel like it's been so good for so long that people began expecting even more."

Feltheimer added that viewers should give due credit to "this incredible group" as the series draws to a close.

Mad Men returns on AMC for the remainder of its seventh and final season on Sunday, April 5.
