Netflix's Orange Is the New Black is finding much success at award shows lately, but will this translate to Emmy gold later in the year?

'Orange Is the New Black': Ruby Rose Character Name Revealed In New PHOTOS With Cast

Orange Is the New Black definitely has the support of actors in the industry. The prison comedy-drama won both awards it was nominated for at the SAG Awards on Sunday, Best Ensemble for the entire 40-person cast and Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the series.

Aduba defeated four actresses who were stars of their own shows, Julie Bowen of ABC's Modern Family, Edie Falco of Showtime's Nurse Jackie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus of HBO's Veep and Amy Poehler of NBC's Parks and Recreation. Meanwhile, the ensemble broke Modern Family's four-year streak in the Comedy Ensemble category.

'Orange Is the New Black' Star Uzo Aduba & Entire Ensemble Win SAG Awards, Break 'Modern Family' Streak

The series also won the Producers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series this weekend, coincidentally breaking Modern Family's four-year streak at that awards organization as well.

Orange Is the New Black was not able to win any Golden Globes earlier this month, but this does not have much bearing on the Emmys since none of the voters overlap.

The show was not able to win Best Comedy Series last year at the Emmys for its first season, having been defeated by Modern Family (their fifth win in a row in that category). They did not receive any top of the line Emmys aside from Aduba in Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

However, this year may prove more successful for the Netflix series now that the industry seems to really be behind it. Will Emmy voters really vote for Modern Family for the sixth year in a row? Will cast members like Taylor Schilling (who plays Piper Chapman), Kate Mulgrew (Red) or Lorraine Toussaint (Vee) possibly win in their respective categories if nominated?

The Emmy nominations will be announced in the summer so there is still a lot of time between these wins for OITNB and the big ceremony. But if the love continues into the summer, the show will probably be looking to receive several trophies this year.

Season 3 of Orange Is the New Black is expected to be released on Netflix in the summer, though the streaming site has not announced a specific premiere date yet.
