Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 has the cash registers ringing in China, as it raked in a whopping ten million dollars on its first day of release.

What Did Josh Hutcherson Steal From The Set While Leaving?

Deadline reported the movie's billings, and said the movie might be up for comparisons with Catching Fire, which didn't fare as well because its release was timed around Gravity.

A special 3D version of the movie was also released for the Chinese market, which might have been an added incentive for viewers.

Josh Hutcherson Reveals It Was "Really Hard" To Wrap Filming

Meanwhile, in other news relating to the franchise, it seems like Mockingjay Part 2 might not be the end of it, as was assumed. Den of Geek recently reported that after a new round of calls with investors the search for new stories to continue with the series is on. According to the publication, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer stated that they were looking for sequel or prequel possibilities. He said that they were "actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities" for The Hunger Games.

He went on to add that they were inspired by Warner Bros. move to do something more with the Harry Potter series.

Although, the actors have preparedly bid adieu to the franchise.

In a special interaction for Interview Magazine, Lawrence spoke with actor Eddie Redmayne, both of them sharing their thespian experiences.

When Redmayne asked Lawrence about Hunger Games and if she was done filming for it, she revealed she still had the last scene to film.

"I think we're done with the press tour. I've got, like, one more thing to shoot for Hunger Games," she said. "We just have one scene to do for the end.

Redmayne expressed surprise at how the movies were done with, and about how it must've been hard for her.

"It's over? Wowzer. That's quite intense," he said. "That's, like, several years of your life."

Lawrence affirmed his belief. "I know. I'm not happy about it at all," she added.

The movie is the third and final instalment in the Hunger Gamestrilogy. The first was Hunger Games: Catching Fire, followed by Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

Part 2 also stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Liam Helmsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, and Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin.

The movie will hit theaters on November 20.
