They've only been parents for a few short months, but sources claim Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are intent on giving their daughter, Esmeralda, a little sibling-and as soon as possible.

According to OK! Magazine, the couple are planning to hopefully have a second child someday, though Mendes may be making an effort to get pregnant again sooner rather than later, and is eagerly awaiting for the go-ahead from her obstetrician so she could start trying for a second child.

"She had a tough pregnancy and doesn't want to wait until she's in her mid-40s for the next one," an insider told the magazine. "She's worried she may not have the strength or stamina for it. It's now or never as far as she's concerned."

However, even though her boyfriend wants another child with her, he is making sure they thoroughly follow doctor's orders and don't try anything sooner than is considered safe.

He's being "incredibly strict with paying attention to her doctor's advice," the source added.

The couple welcomed their daughter back in September, just two months after news broke they were expecting-a secret they had managed to keep under wraps for seven months, with Mendes mainly disappearing from the public eye.

Since they had their daughter, the couple has been plagued by rumors of a split once again-specifically after Gosling spent a large amount of time across the country in Atlanta, filming his movie The Nice Guys-a set Mendes never went to visit him at-but the couple quickly put the rumors to rest.

"Ryan and Eva are super-super-private. The last thing they'd do is bring a baby, who's barely 3 months old, to a film set teeming with paparazzi," a source explained at the time. "Ryan specifically wanted it like this-with paps following him in Atlanta, they're mostly leaving Eva and the baby alone."
