Rumors have swirled that Kanye West's marriage with Kim Kardashian has put a strain on his friendship with fellow rapper Jay Z. Well, West has confirmed that several of his associates distanced themselves from him when he began dating the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star.

Just days after his line with Adidas Originals Collection debuted at New York Fashion Week, he spoke with Style magazine on facing the backlash.

"As soon as we started dating, fashion people were really opposed to the idea of reality stars. And all the relationships, the somewhat friends that I had somewhat built up, completely turned their backs on me. They already had their back to her, and now they turned it to me."

Still, he said he learned about fashion the most at Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner's home, who he also calls "mom."

"Every day I was in my mom's house, in my little brother's old room, Rob's old room, re-tailoring a Céline skirt, re-tailoring a Saint Laurent jacket, re-tailoring a Zara top, retailoring Worlford..."

He added that he and Kardashian ended up progressing together when it came to their style.

"And day by day by day, [Kim and I] learned, we got better. We looked at the photographs together and she improved my style, we improved each other."

While it's been speculated that West and Jay Z's friendship changed because of Kardashian, it's still not clear if that's true. Kardashian and West tied the knot on May 24 of last year. They have one child, North West, together who will be two this summer.
