Empire has finally stopped teasing fans with an epic hookup between Lucious Lyon and Cookie that fans have been waiting all season for!

Even though fans might have seen it coming, it was definitely hard to tell if the writers would have the two exes get intimate this season, or at all in the show. After all, Cookie and Lucious were each other's first loves and previously married. And it's clear that while he's engaged to Anika, the two are still in love.

So viewers were definitely in shock mode when Lucious and Cookie slept together passionately in last night's episode (Feb. 18).

They let their guards down after Lucious told Cookie and their three sons that he was dying of ALS. But what made the episode even more epic was Anika coming home early from a trip to Chicago and seeing them. As fans waited for what she would do, she simply stared at them before walking away.

Viewers took to their Twitter to reveal they lived for the hookup! One shared a snapshot of Rihanna making a mocking face and added the caption, "next time Cookie see Anika".

A second viewer made it clear that while Anika was devastated, they loved it.

Even actress Grace Gealey, who plays Anika was all for it.

"Now Cookie and Lucious!! Even playing Anika, there is something terribly satisfying in seeing them together #empire".

Another watcher defended Cookie and reminded fans that she "was there first...Anika slipped in the picture after the fact...when he was successful. #Empire".

Other fans confessed this is a moment thy had been waiting for.

"I knew BooBoo Kitty was gonna come back home! So glad she saw Cookie & Lucious in bed! #Payback #Empire".

"About time Lucious & Cookie stopped bluffing and made moves on each other #Empire #EmpireFOX".

While she didn't say anything in the moment, a sneak peek for the next episode set to air next Wednesday shows that she's definitely going to confront Lucious for cheating on her with his ex-wife. But it doesn't look like Lucious and Cookie will stop messing around anytime soon.
