Finding a partner can be tricky in life, but when it comes to love for one new contestant on The Amazing Race, the qualities behind a great race partner are the same as those that make for a great life partner.

Jonathon & Harley Hope To Learn 'New Things' About Each Other

In a pre-race interview with CBS, Tyler Adams, who was matched with Laura Pierson, it's important to him that his partner exhibit some of the same qualities he is looking for in other areas of his life-which may work well since he's also going on a blind date.

"This is the hardest part about what you're looking for in a partner, because for this, you're looking for a partner in the race, you're looking for somebody who's going to help you win," he said. "Someone that's going to be out there and willing to do any challenge, having a lot of fun. But I think those qualities too are important to me I guess in life...the optimistic nature, the enthusiastic, I think those things are really important in both. I think as long as they're a go-getter, that's very important to me, and you wake up every day with a purpose, I think that's really important in the race."

Jeff Doesn't Think It's A Bad Thing That He Didn't Meet His Blind Date Until The Starting Line

However, he admits that finding someone has been difficult because he can be a little picky at times.

"I'm not hard to please when it comes to day to day," he said. "I can have a good time with anybody, just throw me in a room and I can make friends with just about anybody that's there, but I'm a little picky when it comes to somebody that I'm going to spend a lot of time with."

The Amazing Race season 26 premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
