On Sunday, Taylor Lianne Chandler who claims to have dated the swimmer, took to her Twitter page to reveal her perspective is on this engagement. Not only does she disapprove, but she made it clear that she does not have much respect for Phelps's fiancee Nicole Johnson.

Marriage is not a bandaid to cover up the wounds and truth of the past," Chandler wrote. "So sad when a woman has no self worth #MichaelPhelps"

Phelps announced that he asked Johnson to marry him through his Instagram page. A photo of the couple shows the ring on Johnson's finger as she lies on top of her future husband in the snow.

After this news was released, Chandler took to Facebook to add more details on how this upcoming marriage will not hide the apparent truth.

"The lengths someone will go to try and redeem their image," the woman wrote. "No marriage can hide the truth and reality. It's sad to me that a woman so pretty would allow herself to be sucked into all this by Octagon. Nicole has known the truth since October. How convenient they now say they rekindled their romance after rehab in November. He still cheated on me with her and the dog walker."
