After nearly a six-month absence, it looks like HBO was finally ready to put True Detective's official Twitter account to some good use this week.

The Emmys Might Have Resolved Future 'True Detective' Confusion

The crime drama's Twitter feed shared some new photos on Feb. 20 which featured Colin Farrell (Detective Ray Velcoro) and Taylor Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh) filming in Los Angeles.

'True Detective' Star Says He's 'Tied' To New Mustache

The images show Ray in hot pursuit, as well as some sort of conflict between him and Paul. Perhaps the pair are clashing over protocol, or even discussing a plan in order to capture whoever it is they are chasing. Ray has been described by the network has a man torn between law enforcement and the criminals who have him in their pocket, though it's uncertain where Paul's allegiances will lie.

Of course these "leaked" photos are familiar to many fans as those leaked from the set earlier this month, but the network's acknowledgement of the images seems to be an attempt to begin promotion.

Written by creator Nic Pizzolatto, the show's upcoming season will follow the murder of a corrupt city manager in California. Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon) and Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides) are set to star alongside Farrell and Kitsch. Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin will direct the premiere.

True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
