Fans have been waiting in agony for weeks for real answers as to why the Brown family on Sister Wives made a decision to change their familial structure, and now with the season finale scheduled to air in just a few short days, they will hopefully get the answers they've been waiting for.

Kody Favoring Some Children Over Others?

Though many assumed initially that Kody was the one who requested a divorce from his first (and only legal) wife Meri, so he could then legally marry fourth wife Robyn, Meri has since revealed she was the one who made the decision to divorce-though her reasons haven't yet been revealed.

Meri has hinted on Twitter that her reasons would be revealed on the season finale episode:

And while no one outside of the family knows her real reasons just yet, here are 3 potential reasons why she may have requested a divorce.

1. Meri Has Been Hinting Unhappiness Throughout All Of Season Five-And Even Started Going Back To School So She Could Continue Trying To Find A Career She Loved

Though she did go back to school, it could have not been enough to truly make her happy and satisfied-meaning divorce seemed like another viable option for her.

2. She is the only Sister Wife to no longer have a child in the house-and wants to cherish that freedom.

Meri's daughter, Mariah, has been gone for a few years already since leaving for college-and if Kody is spending time with his other wives, that leaves her completely alone in her house. And while that could make her lonely, it could also have inspired her to embrace the freedom that comes from being a parent with no young kids to look after 24/7. That freedom could have eventually caused her to seek a divorce so she isn't so legally tied down anymore.

3. She simply feels it's time for Kody to have a new legal wife-and chose Robyn to replace her in that role.

Meri has been able to enjoy the perks that come from being the only legal wife for more than two decades. Maybe she simply feels it's time for one of the other wives to have that now.

Sister Wives season 5 finale airs Sunday, March 1, at 9 p.m. on TLC.
