Big Sean and Ariana Grande have blessed fans with several songs before they became a couple; but they switched it up for their newest collaboration Research, which is about females that Big Sean has dated in his past.

Big Sean Possibly Responds To Naya Rivera's Pregnancy 'Dodged A Bullet'

He raps about a girl going through his phone and hacking his emails. He said that even though this isn't he and Grande's reality, he's happy she was able to be a part of the track.

He spoke with The Daily Beast Wednesday and said, "I appreciate her because that concept of 'Research' is so real and relevant for a lot of people. Even if it's not necessarily real and relevant to me and her and our situation; I can't speak for her, but I've surely been through situations like that. I feel like we all have. And it was cool to just get that idea off."

As far as the two falling in love just months after his split with ex-fiance Naya Rivera and her split with Jai Brooks, Big Sean said it caught both of them by surprise.

"It was planned, y'know? It's not like I was just like 'Yeah, I'm about to go right into this. It just happened. It was a natural thing. It wasn't calculated or nothing. She was just there as a friend and I was there as a friend for her. It just built from there and everything worked out."

He also shut down speculation that Grande was a rebound from his very famous relationship with Rivera before revealing if he plans to keep making music with Grande now that they are together.

"We just respect each other. She do what I can't do, and I do what she can't do. We just have fun it with it. I do want to make more music with her."
