"Him reaching out through social media? It's ridiculous!" said Duff, indicating that it doesn't look like she will be moving on anytime soon. "But then people do it all the time, like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages."

As for how she is handling the divorce, it has changed her perspective.

"I don't want to sound bitter because I'm definitely not, but I don't know if people are meant to be together forever. Things happen over a long relationship that you can't always fight," she said.

But fighting for happiness means sacrifices in a marriage, and Duff doesn't know if that's worth it to her. She gave the impression that it all just comes down to being there for herself and hoping for the best in her future.

"A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel really great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness," she said.

As she divorces Comrie, she is allegedly fighting for primary custody of her two-year-old son, Luca.
