Queens Park will face off against West Ham in the English Premier League at Loftus Road Stadium on Monday.

QPR continue their struggles and are ranked last in the EPL and have a minus eight goal difference.  However, West Ham have been plagued by inconsistency themselves in the early season.  Although they were victorious against Fulham 3-0, they did come up short by the same margin against Swansea City.

Barely skating by in 2011, QPR only just survived in the EPL after clocking up just 37 points from their 38 games. However, the situation appears even bleaker in 2012.  Coach Mark Hughes spoke to BBC and insisted that the squad is staying focused and not panicking.

"For the most part our performances have been fine up to a point.  Obviously we need to see games out.  We have selection problems at the moment in a key area of the field in defense.  We understood that it could happen and that it would take us time to get the team functioning as we wanted."

Hughes also touched on the preparation involved when coping with the football club's woes.

"The way I work and my staff work is we don't get too high and we don't get too low.  What we do every single day is make sure the team is prepared and we give them the best chance to be successful.  Over the long term that has been proved in all the teams I have been involved with."

West Ham will be nervous as their away form has not been great and they have been more effective at home at Upton Park; they've earned seven of eight EPL points in their own backyard.

Although QPR are bottom of the league, if they can feed off of their home crowd then they may have a strong shot against EPL newcomers West Ham.  If the team does not manage to get anything out of games like this then they can expect to be right in the mix when the relegation dog fight commences for real in the second half of the season.

Coverage for the West Ham vs. QPR matchup will begin at 8PM UK time on Monday, Oct. 1st.
