Pippa Middleton's success as a writer and entrepreneur might in fact be nothing more than an illusion.

Pippa Middleton Backs Out Of NBC Deal

Ever since it was announced that she won't be joining NBC as a special correspondent this year, Pippa has been thrust into a pretty intense spotlight.

According to the Daily Mail on Monday, the failed deal is just the next in a long line of abandoned endeavors started by Princess Kate's younger sister.

Why Pippa Middleton Might Become A Godmother This Year

Though the 31-year-old is indeed a wealthy lady, much of Pippa's success has been on the heels of her sister's marriage to Prince William.

The Daily Mail argues that her varied resume as a columnist is the result of mediocre skills as a writer and a tendency to state the obvious.

Pippa's party planning book, Celebrate!, allegedly did so poorly that in 2014 the US publisher Viking decided not forgo a second project with Pippa.

So is Pippa really just the little sister to a big star? Can she really be anything more in her own right?

One facet of Pippa's work which seems beyond reproach is her involvement with the British Heart Foundation, a charity which she has been working with for over a year.

This June Pippa will take part in the 40th anniversary of the BHF's London to Brighton bike ride. In 2014 she managed to raise over $30,000 for the foundation when she biked across the United States, suggesting that perhaps charity might be the right route for her moving forward.
