She is certainly best-known for her role as Rachel Berry on Glee, but Lea Michele's newest project will see her doing something very different from what she has the last six years on the Fox show.

The actress, whose previous show wraps on March 20 with a two-hour finale, is officially on set of her new Fox series, also created by Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk, called Scream Queens, and in an interview with USA Today, she revealed that despite previous assumptions that the show was a mix of both Glee and American Horror Story, it is actually completely different.

"You won't see any signs of Glee in this show. And it's even a totally different horror genre than American Horror Story," she said. "It reminds me a lot of those old, classic horror films like Evil Dead, and even closer to my generation, like Scream or Heathers, and it has a little bit of Mean Girls in there. This is a whole new brand that they've created."

And while Michele maintains that the show is completely different from anything fans have seen before, she is also hinting that her character is also something that those who loved her on Glee would never expect.

"I'll tell you this. A lot of people working on Scream Queens are our crew from Glee...," she said. "When I went on my first day, no one even recognized me. This is like my Charlize Theron in Monster moment."

"My character is out-of-control crazy, insane and hilarious, and it's been so fun to play," she added. "When I got home from the first day, so many of the cast were texting me, like, 'It's so great how you're embracing this character.' Not wearing basically any makeup, not doing my hair and she has a lot of unique qualities that you'll see."

Scream Queens premieres on FOX this Fall. It also stars Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Skyler Samuels, Diego Boneta, Oliver Hudson, Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas.
