Weeks before the premiere, Cohen, creator of the Real Housewives franchise, spoke out in a new interview, expressing his excitement over the return of Bethenny Frankel.

"Bethenny's back doing what she does best, which is being a Housewife," Cohen told E! News on Thursday. "From the moment she comes back, you're like, ‘Oh my god.' Anyone who thought the New York Housewives had gotten off course, or anything, in the last couple seasons, it is back, it is better than ever. I'm getting goose bumps talking about it."

Frankel was one of the original housewives on The Real Housewives of New York City, when the series first premiered, but left after season 3 for a series of her own. After starring in Bethenny Getting Married, Frankel and her husband, Jason Hoppy, continued their reality careers in Bethenny Ever After, which ran for two additional seasons.

Cohen went on to say that The Real Housewives of New York City holds a special place in his role as executive producer on the series.

"They are here. They are in town, so I see them the most, and there's something about the Housewives of New York that has tickled me in a way that none of the others do," he explained.

The Real Housewives of New York City premieres on April 7 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
