Maya's (Karla Mosley) huge secret could change the way things are going for not only her personal life, but her professional one as well on The Bold and the Beautiful.

How Fans Reacted To Maya's Big Reveal

For now, the only other person in L.A. who knows that Maya is transgender, and was originally born as Myron, is her sister, Nicole (Reign Edwards), and for now, the secret remains safe-but it is eventually bound to be revealed to not only Rick (Jacob Young) but the rest of the Forrester Creations team as well. The question is-how will the news actually be handled?

When it comes to her personal life, Maya could likely kiss goodbye the perks of being Rick's girlfriend, especially the mansion, because he most likely won't handle the news that she was once a man very well. He will especially react badly because he believed their relationship held no secrets-only to now be learning that in fact, their relationship held one huge one.

Karla Mosley Speaks Out On Playing Transgender Character

However, professionally, Maya's world could be changed in several ways. Here are three ways her news could be handled at Forrester.

1. Overwhelming Acceptance

Knowing the struggle she actually went through to become the woman she is today will potentially make the rest of the staff more sympathetic to Maya, who has not been on anyone's list of favorite people since her affair with Rick was revealed. Coming clean could even earn her some sympathy from her biggest sworn enemy, Caroline (Linsey Godfrey).

2. Being Offered The Opportunity To Help Change Forrester's Image

If the company and Maya choose to make the story completely public by opening up to the press, coming clean could be spun in a way to help Forrester reach even more demographics and targets for sales. More open-minded consumers and those who love companies that hire those with inspiring stories would be more likely to shop Forrester Creations designs than their competitors if they knew that the lead model was transgender.

3. Her Career Could Be Ruined

It seems unlikely that the show would take a turn where it shows Maya being cast aside and having everyone at Forrester turn their backs on her, but there is always a possibility that her story could cause even more aversion to her-and as a result, she could find herself not only without the man she loves, but without the job she loves as well.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
