Jamie and Claire will be facing some major marital problems when Outlander returns on Starz next month.

How One Man Convinced Starz To Adapt 'Outlander' For Television

Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are from different centuries and that fact is about to take its toll as the second half of the first season moves forward this spring.

According to E! on Tuesday, the 18th century Scotland-native and the 1940s English nurse will disagree over the treatment of women. It is uncertain whether Claire's disapproval will be in regards to Jamie's actual treatment of women or his general stance on the subject. Claire has learned firsthand that the century in which she has fallen does not have high regard for women and she's struggled to find respect amongst those around her.

Supposedly Jamie's ideas are not necessarily ideal, but they are also not surprising given the era in which he was raised. Even so, fans might find themselves resenting his opinions on equality and possibly getting a bit angry with the Scotsman in the first few episodes.

Nonetheless, E! assured fans that his feelings and actions towards Claire will ultimately right any wrong he might commit. He will even open up and some pretty romantic sentiments to Claire, showing a whole new side to the warrior which some viewers are bound to swoon over.

Outlander will return on Starz for the remainder of its second season on Saturday, April 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
