In a recent interview with TVGuide, Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer might have given away some details about the renewal of the series.

'Creepy, Internet Stalker' From Premiere To Return In Season 10 Finale

Messer particularly addressed Reid's (Matthew Gray Gubler) romantic future on the show, but in the course she seemed to be looking ahead into season 11. Messer revealed that Reid wasn't going to get into a relationship with Agent Dorian Loker (Emily Churchill). She added that Churchill would not be coming back for the rest of this season, and later stated that there were no plans to feature her in season 11 either.

""It's been two years. Maeve is something that will never go away in his heart. We want him to smile again and we think everybody else does too," she said. "The fact that this quirky agent who speaks Russian is somebody he'd like to have coffee with - good on him. That's a great thing."

"People Are Going To Lose Their Minds" With Episode 21 Of Criminal Minds

While talking about Reid's character arc she slipped that they might discuss his romantic life seriously at some point in the next season.

"But we will probably discuss it and figure it out at some point next season," she said.

Although there hasn't been official word yet, we can perhaps assume that a new season is on the cards.

The next episode of Criminal Minds will air on April 22 on CBS.
