As speculation swirls that Nicki Minaj is engaged to her new beau Meek Mill, her ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels has spoken out on where they stand.

He spoke with DJ Vlad of VladTV April 14 and said, "It's definitely different. It's a new life. Everything is different. It is what it is."
He confirmed that his recent tweet, "It would've been dope to do this together, I miss you" was about Nicki. But he added that it still might not be the best thing to reunite with her. He said the world is getting ready to find out how talented he is, and that's what he meant when he said he wished he and Nicki could have accomplished great things together.

Samuels and the Anaconda rapper split just weeks before she was spotted getting close with Meek Mill. Samuels has broken his silence before, but in the latest interview he gives fans an update.
When asked about how he felt about Nicki breaking down about their breakup during an interview, Samuels seemed nonchalant.
"I didn't even watch the interview. I don't like to watch stuff like that."
Samuels and Nicki were together for more than a decade. Nicki never confirmed that he was her boyfriend until after their split. But given that anytime you saw Nicki, Samuels wasn't too far behind, it was an unspoken fact that they were dating. Samuels said he just now realized that Nicki would not have been as successful without him being a key part of her support system.
