Robert Kirkman's new Walking Dead spin-off series has raised quite a few eyebrows, and AMC viewers are definitely axious for the series to debut this summer.

'Fear The Walking Dead' Producer Shares New Details About Series

Earlier this year the show creator took to Twitter to make the huge announcement that the new series Fear The Walking Dead would be joining the AMC show line-up and now he's giving fans a little insight into the show's first season.

Earlier this month Mashable reported that while the series will focus heavily on the zombie apocalypse, viewers will not get any information about the back story into how the virus outbreak started.

New 'Fear The Walking Dead' Sneak Peek Available Now

"Learning the origins is not the priority in Walking Dead; that's not the priority in Fear The Walking Dead," Kirkman said. "Every other story deals with that stuff and we're concerned about the heart."

While the show creator says that he has the origin on the story in his head, he's not ready to reveal what it is, but he does say the new series will be sort of a foreground.

When asked about the spinoff, Kirkman said that the show, "will take viewers back to a timid time when The Walking Dead were more dangerous and more of an ever present threat."

The first teaser has been also been released and the video hints at the idea that the series will take place before a huge zombie apocalypse occurs that will eventually wipe out most of the population.

The series will make its debut sometime in late summer and will consist of 6 one-hour long episodes while season 2 will air sometime next year.
