Earth Day 2015: Kerry Washington, Russell Simmons, Ellen DeGeneres, Leonardo DiCaprio & Other Celebs Celebrate The Earth [PHOTOS, VIDEO]
Earth Day is annual celebration celebrated on April 22 every year where people around the world participate in various activities to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
The movement, which began in 1970, is now run by an organization called Earth Day Network, and it is now celebrated in over 192 countries each year.
This year's initiative is to encourage people around the world to learn more about the seriousness surrounding climate change and how it negatively impacts the earth.
Just like educators, some celebrities like Scandal actress Kerry Washington, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and Russell Simmons are also celebrating the special day and they are urging people to get involved with different projects that will help save Mother Earth.
