Although Chris Pratt, who plays the lead, Owen Grady, in the upcoming Jurassic World movie, didn't give away any meaty spoilers, he did discuss the nature of the movie when put in context with the previous ones in the franchise.

T-Rex Vs. Indominus Rex In Jurassic World?

There had been some confusion about the movie being a reboot and Pratt spoke about how that is not the case at all.

"Movies have a hard time of capturing the grittiness of a novel. Whereas novels have a hard time being done in an hour and a half. This is not a reboot," he wrote. "It plays as a sequel 21 years after the events of the first movie. And it deals with society's relationship with science and how much it has changed over the past couple decades. We are no longer impressed by magical and wonderful things. Imagine if dinosaurs were back, and had been around for 21 years, would anyone think they're cool anymore?"

Jurassic World Already Under Fire For Being 'Sexist'?

The only character from the original that is being carried forward to Jurassic World is Dr. Wu (B.D. Wong). Wu was an integral part of the team of scientists funded by John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), InGen's billionaire CEO and the park's creator, in the film.

Jurassic World has been directed by Colin Trevorrow, and also stars Irrfan Khan, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D'Onofrio, Judy Greer and Jake Johnson.

The film will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
