Apple's iPad Mini media event will be streamed live today at 10 a.m. PT. But the live stream will only be available to Apple TV owners. A new application has been added last night called "Apple Events",  with a message saying "tune in at 10 a.m. PT on October 23 to watch this event live."

There is no confirmation as to what will be released at the media event, which is called merely a "Special Event" by the tech giant. However, as we all speculate, the highly anticipated iPad Mini will finally be unveiled to take on rivals such as Amazon's Kindle Fire which is dominating the smaller tablet market.

The rumored specifications of the tablet hint that there will be two model options to choose between: a seven or nine inch screen. The iPad Mini may also include a stylus, an 8-megapixel camera and the base unit is looking to have an 8 GB memory.

The price tag is rumored to be set at around $250 to $300 depending on screen sizes.

There are also rumors that Apple will address updates to their MacBook Pro and iMac.

The event will take place at the California Theatre in San Jose, California. This isn't the first time Apple has used the California Theatre for their announcements. In 2005, the company held a press conference in the San Jose theater which displayed the iPod video and in 2004 they debuted the color iPods.

A live blog will be provided by CNET, but of course, if you have an Apple TV, tune in to the "Apple Events" app to watch the unveiling via live stream. Or watch online by clicking here.
