Fifty Shades Darker will be hitting big screens sooner than later and according to the film's plot, fans may be getting a little insight into the main character's backstory.

While it has been confirmed that lead actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will be returning to the big screen to reprise the roles as billionaire businessman Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, new rumors suggest that there will be some new faces added to the cast.

In E.L. James' erotic trilogy, Elena Lincoln, or Mrs. Robinson to Ana, is friend of Christian's mother and the two began an affair when he was just 15 years old and she was the one who introduced Christian to the world of BDSM. In the book, Ana is disgusted that Christian continues to be friends with the woman who seduced him when he was just 15-years-old but it's unclear if that will be added to the film adaptation.

'Fifty Shades' Author E.L. James Now Has Full Creative Control Over Film Sequels

According to the films IMDB page, the new film will center on Christian's struggle as he wrestles with his inner demons, while Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her.

Rumors online also suggested that runway model Cara Delevingne could be joining the cast for the film franchise's second installment but it's unsure if the stories are really true.

The movies first official trailer teaser, which was released last week, has already been watched nearly two million times and viewers can't wait for more inside looks into the highly anticipated sequel.

Fifty Shades Darker is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017. Fifty Shades Freed will also arrive just in time for Valentine's Day on February 9, 2018.
