As fans wait on the edge of their seats for the fourth season of finale of ABC’s Scandal, Kerry Washington said that it’s so crazy, she doesn’t even know what else there is to happen in season five.

‘Scandal’ Cast Teases Season Finale, Says It’s ‘A Really Dark One’

She made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week and first touched on reports that the finale will be an “explosive” one.

“There’s a lot of things that could explode. Hearts could explode. Minds could explode. Water balloons could happen… Pillow fights. There could be pillows everywhere.

As far as whether she’s involved in this infamous “explosion,” Washington couldn’t say. But what she did say, “When we finished the table read for this finale, I was so shocked, I looked and Shonda and said, ‘Where do we go from here? How do we even have a fifth season after this?’”

Scandal writer Shonda Rhimes has written some pretty intense story lines. Not just for Scandal but for Grey’s Anatomy. She shocked the nation (maybe even the world) when she killed off Patrick Dempsey’s character Derek Shepherd AK A McDreamy. When Fallon pointed out that things like that make him fear Rhimes, Washington acknowledged that she’s definitely a "queen."

“I’m very nice to Shonda. Shonda has been very nice to me, so I’m very [nice]… I love Shonda. She’s so talented, so prolific and she has a lot of power.”
Don’t miss the epic season finale of Scandal Thursday at 9/8c on ABC.
