It's a good thing they are good friends, otherwise this would have turned out to be a rather awkward situation. Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has admitted that when she first met her Hot Pursuit co-star Sofia Vergara she wants to "be" the Latina beauty.

According to Xpose.ie on Wednesday, Witherspoon made the revelation while they were promoting their new film overseas this week.

She recalled: ''Meeting Sofia Vergara for the first time is exactly what you'd expect. I met her in this hotel and I was waiting for her, and she came in and literally went into slow motion and her hair blew back like this."

Witherspoon added, "every man in the entire hotel was like [stunned] and like one man passed out, and another man dropped all his bags and everyone was like, 'Is there anything I can do for you?' and I was like, 'Oh my God, this woman is a movie star.' And if I can't be her, I want to stand next to her. In a movie.''

Witherspoon also said that despite their friendship, Vergara is sometimes hard to understand, thanks to her (oftentimes sexy) Colombian accent.

She explained, "Sometimes she's hard to understand. But that's kind of funny. But she says she can't understand me. I play this real country Texan girl, and I talk really fast like that, and she was like, 'I have no idea what you're saying, so you're gonna need to pronunciate.'''

Hot Pursuit is in theaters nationwide now.
