While most of the Duggar family has kept quiet since news broke that Josh Duggar sexually molested five young girls when he was a teenager back in 2002 and 2003, Jessa Duggar's father-in-law has something to say. Ben Seewald's father Michael Seewald posted an essay on his blog Monday, defending Josh and saying that he "is rooting" for the scandalized reality star.

According to Gossip Cop on Monday, the elder Seewald wrote a post titled, "Grace Greater Than Our Sin."

He said, "I want to say to Josh, hang in there, the shame you feel is legitimate, yet Jesus took your shame as he was punished in your place. Rest in his forgiveness and grace. Remember that he gives you his righteousness as a covering for your shame."

What's more, Michael Seewald also defends Josh's parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, saying that any parent would have done what they did in their situation.

He added, "As it stands criminal charges were not brought against Josh but I believe that Josh's parents acted in a way that godly parents should. They did not turn a blind eye, but earnestly sought help from the church, counselors, and eventually the police. Maybe they didn't do it in a way that pleases everyone, but they acted decisively to confront the sin, to call a penitent son back from his errors, and to seek to aid the hurting victims. In the end Josh sought forgiveness from those he wronged, repented of his sins, and came to trust Christ as his Savior."

It has been reported that four out of the five young girls Josh molested were his sisters, although it hasn't been confirmed.
