The buzz for Big Brother 17 is steadily increasing heading into the month of June.

CBS Announces Premiere Date For 'Big Brother 17'

Big Brother 17 is a little less than a month away now, and those involved with the show are hyping up the return of the guilty pleasure reality series.

Robyn Kass, the casting director for Big Brother, informed her Twitter followers on Friday that all semifinalists for the new season have officially been contacted.

"All #BB17 semi finalists have been contacted. Thanks again for an amazing turn out. #BBfansrule", Kass wrote on Twitter.

While many are excited about this news, a few of Kass' followers expressed disappointment at not having been contacted to potentially be a cast member on the show. This also essentially confirms that the new season will not be an "All Star" edition, which has been buzzed about for the past few years. Big Brother host Julie Chen is also hyping up BB17 on Twitter, posting a photo of herself with the exciting line "One month" to indicate we are very close to seeing the show again.

Last season, BB16, was a bit of an improvement over the previous one, which was fraught with racist remarks and unlikable houseguests. While BB16 was a little on the dull side due to Derrick Levasseur steamrolling his way to victory, the season produced several likable castaways in Donny Thompson, Zach Rance and Nicole Franzel.

Heading into Big Brother 17, producers are probably hoping for a good mix of drama like in BB15 as well as some people to root for like in BB16.

Big Brother 17 is set to premiere on Wednesday, June 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
