It appears reports that Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game) has snagged the role were premature, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and five other young adults recently screen tested for the coveted role.

Alongside Butterfield, Tom Holland (Wolf Hall), Judah Lewis (Deliverance Creek), Matthew Lintz (Kill the Messenger), Charlie Plummer (King Jack), and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society) are all still in contention, The Hollywood Reporter announced on Saturday.

Sony's untitled Spidey reboot won't hit theaters until 2017, but Marvel needs the young hero to make his debut in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. Caps next outing is already filming in Atlanta, which means that studios' shared Avenger will need to film within the next few months.
