There still hasn't been any official word about Jordana Brewster's return as Mia Toretto in Furious 7, neither was there any grand farewell for the actress from the series for her supposed exit.

The Wire's Idris Elba To Join Fast and Furious 8?

Over the past couple weeks, Vin Diesel, who plays Mia's brother Dominic in the series posted a pic with Brewster and a sentimental video on Instagram featuring flashbacks of the duo from the Fast and Furious movies. "Made me smile...She has always been like a sister on and off screen," Diesel captioned the pic. Could this be a bittersweet farewell to her or just a fond remembrance of the older days?

Mia's exit was seemingly tied to Brian O'Connor's (Paul Walker) in Furious 7, which left a lot of fans wondering if this was the last they would see of her.

Furious 7 Should Win Best Picture Oscar, According To Vin Diesel

O'Connor's decision to leave the dangerous world of fast cars so as to be able to raise his family with Mia, who was expecting their second child, was shown toward the end of Furious 7. This was a way to give Walker a happy send-off, but Mia was also written into it. It does seem unlikely that she would return in a pivotal role, except for a chance appearance here and there. But Brewster is not writing off her return just yet, as she hinted to the possibility of her coming back in an interview with Huffington Post Live.

"I don't know [if I'd do another film], but it's always dependent on the fans," she said. "If they want one and if there's an appetite for it. We never want to jump the shark!"

Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.

Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
