Rest assured, however, that Cas (Misha Collins) and Crowley will feature in season 11. Co-executive producer Jim Michaels informed fans that the CW drama will not announce series regulars ahead of the premiere, but that should not throw up warning signs for viewers.

"No such thing as that type of announcement," Michaels tweeted on Sunday. "I can assure you that @mishacollins & @Mark_Sheppard will be in S11!"

Unfortunately, this announcement doesn't confirm the pair's survival through season 11. To find that out, fans will have to tune in for the hunters' next adventure.

When Supernatural returns from it's summer hell-atus, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) will be tasked with fighting the mysterious Darkness. Released when Rowena managed to remove the Mark of Cain from Dean's arm, this new monster conglomerate left the Winchester bros. trapped as "My Brother's Keeper" came to and end (see video below).
