Apparently, Joe Manganiello didn't waste any time when it came to "pursuing" Sofia Vergara the moment she announced she was no longer engaged to her ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb. The Hollywood actor says that he was on a mission to date Vergara after having a long-standing crush on the Latina beauty.

According to News.com.au, Manganiello says that he did whatever it took to "get her."

"I've had a crush on Sofia for years," he reveals. "Actually, all my friends knew about it to the point where just before she was to announce she was going to be single again [after she broke up with then-fiance Nick Loeb] my friend, the editor of People magazine told me before he was to release a public statement to the masses."

He added, "So he sent it to me first to warn me that there's going to be a line of guys going after her. He wrote to me, 'I want you to get there first. Go get her!'"

Manganiello further adds that he didn't waste any time asking his future wife out on a date.

He said, "So I got her number from Jesse Tyler Ferguson [Vergara's Modern Family co-star] and I called her the next day but she was filming Hot Pursuit in New Orleans. So I flew out there and took her out on a date. She's blamed me ever since for ruining her life because she was supposed to be single. But I didn't let that happen. And here we are."
