Things have gotten worse for Bobby Shmurda's trouble with the law and someone close to him is involved as well.

Bobby Shmurda's Lawyer Speaks Up On Upcoming Trial

On Sunday, All Hip Hop reported that the rapper's girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau, has been accused of smuggling a shank into the facility when Shmurda was arrested again in Riker's Island for allegedly possessing the shank. Rousseau has reportedly plead guilty to the charges of criminal possession of a weapon and promoting prison contraband.

According to New York Daily News, Shmurda was busted last week after a guard allegedly saw Rousseau pull a black latex glove balloon wrapped in electrical tape out of her bra and hand it to her boyfriend. The report says that when the guard opened up this balloon, a "sharpened metal object" was found.

How Long Will Bobby Shmurda's Trial Be Extended For?

This will likely add a lot more scandal to the rapper's charges as he remains in jail with a $2 million bail. He is already facing charges for alleged attempted murder, drug dealing and more.

A trial was supposed to happen earlier this week, but Shmurda's attorney, Kenneth Montgomery, told BET that there would likely be a delay.

"There's 13 defendants in the conspiracy case, each of them charged with different underlying charges and conduct and the government just ordered swabs from my guy and it takes time to get the swabs done, DNA wise," Montgomery explained. "There's other issues and more discoveries to come, so I suspect on the 25 that the case is going to be adjourned for some time, which is more realistic going forward."
