Eric Christian Olsen (Deeks) showed off his hiatus beard on Thursday, and it made us miss the scruffy LAPD detective even more. While the actor is off enjoying his vacation, fans can hunker down in the air conditioning with Deeks' top five episodes.

1- "Hand-To-Hand"

This season 2 episode marks Deeks' first appearance on NCIS: LA. Sent undercover by the LAPD, Deeks crosses paths with the OSP team in true pugilistic form. After the conflicting investigations land Deeks and Sam (LL Cool J) in lockup, Hetty (Lindy Hunt) decides her team could use a fourth member.

2- "Personal"

Another season 2 episode, "Personal" puts Deeks in moral danger. Still new to the world of NCIS, Deeks attempts to defuse a convenience store robbery but winds up taking two bullets to the stomach. All is not what is seems, however, and the gunmen have a far more nefarious plan in the works.

3 - "Asscension"

Sidorov captures Deeks and Sam while NCIS attempts to track down a stolen nuke. Subjected to torture, Deeks' rescue doesn't go quite as planed and the fallout is painful and long lasting for our favorite liaison.

4 - "Spoils of War"

Deeks, Callen (Chris O'Donnell), and Sam head to Afghanistan to rescue Kensi (Daniela Ruah). Concerned for his partner and love interest, Deeks heads off the rails while interrogating a suspect. Does Deeks have a terrifying dark side, or will his common sense prevail?

5- "The Frozen Lake"

This one goes out to all you Densi shippers. Deeks' feelings for Kensi affect his work in the field, not to mention leaves his partner seriously ticked off. Some wise words for a gurkha, however, will help keep the workplace romance going.
