The CBS drama sent viewers into the summer hiatus without a major cliffhanger - an unexpected break from tradition - and it appears the Office of Special Projects will start season 7 with a fresh storyline.

Executive producer John Peter Kousakis has teased "action, drama and laughs" for the premiere, and that humor will stem from the series' notoriously amusing pairings, all of whom will return this fall.

"Densi? Should be! Calam? Maybe! Neric? Will be! Hettger? Most certainly! #staytuned 9/21/15!" Kousakis previewed in a special Fourth of July teaser.

It is currently unknown which episode will serve as the upcoming premiere - two season 7 episodes were filmed in May - but smart money is on the Dennis Smith directed episode that will feature a cross over form very Special Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly).
