Pop culture websites are still speculating the return of Shia LaBeouf for Transformers 5 but if a couple of developments are taken into consideration it seems highly unlikely that the actor will be coming back.

Bumblebee Will Not Return For Transformers 5?

In the first phase of the Transformers series, LaBeouf was the main star of the films, he was pretty much helming the movies on the acting front. What is important to note is that while Jack Reynor and Nicole Peltz were the fresh faces in the second phase like LaBeouf and Megan Fox were in the initial movies. But Mark Wahlberg was actually the main star of Transformers 4: Age of Extinction and the actor has confirmed that he is going to be back for the sequel. So this makes things a bit slippery for LeBeouf's return, as the actor won't actually be coming in at the level of Reynor.

Secondly, LaBeouf has pretty vehemently expressed his disinterest in returning for the films. In fact he has recently also been critical of the franchise.

Could A Transformers Sequel Be Set In Cybertron With New Characters?

It must also be noted that LaBeouf's has taken a drastically different direction artistically from his beginnings in Transformers. It would be like suggesting that Kristen Stewart would be willing to return for a new Twilight movie.

So fans should not raise false expectations regarding LeBeouf's return.

Transformers: Age of Extinction will hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
