Zachary Quinto opened up on the LGBTQ community and how there is still a long way to go before acceptance happens.

Same-sex marriage became legal in all 50 states of America recently, but Quinto pointed out how there is still abomination against people of different sexual orientations.

"The battle for acceptance, against bigoted hatred, is not over yet," the advocate for same-sex marriage told America's InStyle magazine (via Friday's report from Inside Halton). "I do think the gay-rights movement is evolving into transgender-equality movement."

The actor also opened up on reality star Caitlyn Jenner, who was formerly known as Bruce Jenner before coming out as a woman.

"I have a lot of admiration for Caitlyn Jenner," Quinto said. "And to the extent the family is reflective of it- I can't believe I'm saying this- I have more of an appreciation."

Quinto has been living in New York with his boyfriend, Miles McMillan, and their two dogs. He mentioned how it feels to take time to rest and go about his daily routines.

"I used to prefer to be busy," the actor said. "In retrospect, I am recognizing the value and need for space and time between experiences. I'm settling into a normal East Village [NYC] routine. I take my two terriers for a walk in the morning, get coffee, ride my bike. There's no shortage of amazing restaurants."
