After the shocking death of Darryl Hamilton, his memory will continue in a special tournament.

Darryl Hamilton's Brother Releases Obituary With Athlete's Accomplishments

On Wednesday, Chron announced that the late major league player will be honored at a golf tournament at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Connecticut on Tuesday, August 11 to help out the athete's kids. The site mentioned that anyone who donates to the Darryl Quinn Hamilton Memorial Fund is able to participate in the game.

Hamilton died last month in his Texas home when his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his 14-month-old son Monica Jordan allegedly shot him and then herself in what appeared to be a murder-suicide.

Shortly after his death, the baseball star's brother John released an obituary with details on Hamilton's success and his attendance to Nicholls State University in Louisiana.

"This was quite an accomplishment given the fact that he did not play high school baseball," the statement says via New York Daily News. "At Nichols, Darryl was an All-American, stole 140 bases, scored 193 runs, and in 1985, batted a career-high .379. In 1986, Darryl was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and quickly moved through the minor leagues culminating with his call-up to the majors in 1988 by Milwaukee."

The obituary continues with a number of other accomplishments that Hamilton had, including his serve as an analyst on Compass Media Network's radio broadcasts following his retirement.
