The successful launch of California Freedom wasn't only a big hit for Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, but also saw the successful new chapter that Maya (Karla Mosley) and Rick (Jacob Young) will take together begin with the couple's engagement.

The California Freedom Fashion Show Faces Struggles

However, while mostly everyone else at the show, including some of their biggest critics and earlier detractors, was happy for them, one person may still be somewhat unhappy--Maya's father, Julius (Obba Babatunde).

Julius, who has been telling Maya he will try to get to know her and move past the fact that she is no longer physically the son he believed he raised, has been having his motives for sticking around in town constantly questioned, because of his prior refusals to even acknowledge Maya, or refer to her as a woman. And now, after he initially seems celebratory after the show, his wife, Vivienne (Anna Maria Horsford) will begin to wonder why.

Julius Tests Rick's Commitment To Maya

"All I know is we've for many more days ahead of us, drinking champagne," he says to her in a preview clip for the Tuesday, July 21 episode.

However, after she continues to question him, he may finally snap--and the two will finally reveal that they are on opposing sides when it comes to not only accepting their daughter for who she is, but her plans to marry a very wealthy man as well.

"Maybe if I stay around these crazy LA people long enough, maybe I'll become like them," Julius says to Vivienne in the clip. "And then I'll be able to accept it."

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
