There's a good reason why Jennifer Lopez decided to chop off her luscious locks recently. Apparently, the chart topper and Hollywood star not only wanted to experiment with her look, but she also wanted to get into character for her latest on-screen movie.

According to Hello Magazine, Lopez's stylist Juan Carlos Maciques opened up about Lopez's new daring look, saying it's all for her upcoming role in the new police drama, Shades of Blue.

Still, that hasn't stopped the sexy mother-of-two from looking as glamorous as she can only do away from the camera.

Maciques added, "Now it's a matter of adapting it to her every day and making it glamorous."

Meanwhile, Lopez's on-again, off-again boyfriend Casper Smart insists there's nothing going on between the ex-couple, even though they've been spending plenty of time with each other lately.

According to Extra TV earlier this month, Smart said that while he and Lopez are definitely enjoying their time together, he refuses to say whether or not they've been getting "romantic" with each other as well.

The former backup dancer simply said, "Today it's just fun, just having a good time."
