It looks like there is a good reason why Jill and Jessa Duggar won't be getting their promised spin-off shows now that 19 Kids & Counting has been given the axe. There's a new report that says their father Jim Bob Duggar was and still is very hungry for the spotlight as he apparently didn't like the sudden shift the reality show was taking by focusing on his now-married daughters.

The Duggar Family Reportedly Desperate To Return To Television

According to People Magazine on Wednesday, a source close to the family says Jim Bob was not a fan of giving Jill and Jessa their own spin-off shows after several "intense" conversations and business meetings.

"He absolutely wanted to be back on TV and was never thrilled about the show suddenly shifting focus," the source says of Jim Bob, 50.

Duggar Family Is Looking For A New Network After Being Dropped By TLC?

Now that Jill has moved to Central America with her husband Derick Dillard and their 4-month-old son Israel David, there's no chance that the cameras will be following her for her own show.

And even though Jessa has great potential to be her family's next stand-out star because she is "beautiful, smart, and strong-willed," it looks like her show isn't going to happen either.

The insider explained, "She may be slightly more free-spirited than your average Duggar, but she is firmly and centrally a part of the family, as is her husband."

19 Kids & Counting was canceled by the TLC network after news broke that Josh Duggar sexually molested five young girls when he was a teenager back in 2002 and 2003. Two of his victims were his sisters Jill and Jessa, while the other victims have not been identified.
