British singer-songwriter Craig David got candid about his decision to go celibate in a podcast interview.

In the weekend episode of "The TMZ Podcast," the 43-year-old musician talked about his life, latest musical projects, "Lovers & Friends" performance in Las Vegas and his journey with celibacy, among many others.

David revealed that he has not had sex for two years now.

"I know to the date, it's been two years now for me [without sex]. But in a funny way, as much as I was like 'Wow!' to myself for the moment, [my] creativity has been on a 100, on a max, for those two years," he responded when podcast host Charlie Cotton asked him how long he has been celibate.

"And it wasn't like I'm not talking to girls or meeting women and just vibing... My main thing is that rather than jumping into a situation [that] can bring a lot of baggage and drama, what about if I had friendships? What if I have a lot of friends that I met? What if we really sort this one out? And then you could see red flags from because you've seen the person for a period of time rather than it being so quick."

His choice to be celibate and not be distracted by intimacy appears to be paying off because he is on a roll with his "7 Days Commitment Tour" in North America, which kicked off in San Francisco on Monday.

The "Walking Away" artist first opened up about being celibate on "The Louis Theroux Podcast" in June 2023.

At the time, he said that repeated one-night stands in his 20s and 30s led to "different traumas," so he wanted to heal "[his] own issues" first before opening up to someone else.

"I realized that me not having healed my own issues meant I was never in a position to be open to someone else... Sometimes, you gotta pull it back, man. I'm 42 years old now -- things are different," he said at the time.

His stand on celibacy now seems like a turnaround from his old song "7 Days," which talks about intimacy and "making love by Wednesday."

Because of this, he was asked by Cotton and co-host Charlie Neff how would the new Craig David change the song.

"Actually, the song would be the same. I'd sing that with the same amount of love and passion," he responded, explaining that every song holds value.

He added that he would just "park" sex for the meantime and "get real conversations" with another person.
