Recent jokes made by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev sparked new interest in aliens that is sure to excite conspiracy theorists.

During a press conference on Dec. 7, Medvedev was asked by a reporter off-air if each Russian leader is given secret documents on aliens at the same time they're given the necessary activation codes for the country's nuclear weapons.

Medvedev's joking remarks were reported by Reuters when he said, "Along with the briefcase with nuclear codes, the president of the country is given a special 'top secret' folder. This folder in its entirety contains information about aliens who visited our planet. "

The Russian prime minister continued: "Along with this, you are given a report of the absolutely secret special service that exercises control over aliens on the territory of our country ... More detailed information on this topic you can get from a well-known movie called 'Men in Black' ... I will not tell you how many of them are among us because it may cause panic."

Medvedev's comments have sparked interest across the internet for those people who believe our world has been visited by extraterrestrials and that many government heads know about their existence.

The Russian leader didn't just joke about aliens and "Men in Black." He also talked about his belief in a famous mythical figure.

"I believe in Father Frost," Medvedev joked during the off-the-record remarks session about the existence of Santa Claus, referred to as "Father Frost" in Russia. "But not too deeply. But anyway, you know, I'm not one of those people who are able to tell the kids that Father Frost does not exist."

Medvedev has shown that he has a greater sense of humor and lighter attitude than his presidential predecessor Vladimir Putin who many see as having a very cold demeanor.
