On Saturday, the former President George W. Bush auctioned off his pickup truck for $300,000 to benefit The Fisher House charity.

The charity builds homes on military grounds and VA hospitals, which allows family members to be close to relatives while they receive care. The president used his beloved 2009 Ford F-150 King Ranch 4X4 Super Crew on the grounds of his Prairie Chapel ranch in Crawford, Texas, often giving tours to visitors and dignitaries. As an extra, Bush gave the car's buyer a video showing him autographing the right airbag panel and also driving the vehicle around his ranch. The Ford model boasts a 5.4 Liter V-8 engine, 11,200 pounds of towing capacity and a leather interior.

The identity of the buyer was not revealed to the public.

"I haven't driven on a street in many, many years, but I have been able to drive this truck on my ranch," Bush said in a statement.

George W. Bush served as the 43rd president of the United States and he was in office for two terms, from 2001 to 2009. His father George H.W. Bush was hospitalized in November 2012 for complications brought on from bronchitis. The 88-year-old former president was admitted to the hospital because of "an abundance of caution" due to his old age, according to NBC News.

He was released on Jan. 14 from The Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center and said in a statement how "prayers and good wishes helped more than you know,"

Although it's considered a common sickness, bronchitis can turn into a serious problem for individuals with a weak immune system, mainly affects children and the elderly. It's a condition where the bronchial tubes become swollen and produce mucus, which creates the need to cough, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
